You've probably heard it all before, right? "Test tons of creatives for each product, and you'll strike gold." Sounds familiar? Well, it's time to change that narrative.

WHY BOTHER THINKING DIFFERENTLY ABOUT CREATIVES?

Most of you who have tried dropshipping have failed and even lost a lot of money. It is because you fell into that mindset of forcing products to work; this is a very slippery slope, and it’s hard to come back from.

You end up digging a pretty deep hole, thinking you only need one more video, one more last time to make the perfect creatives, and this product will take off…

HERE’S THE DEAL:

As you probably know by now, we primarily run General and Fashion stores, and I teach my students how to run them, so we are not limited by how many products we can run. We don’t have five or ten products that we’re stuck with. We prefer not to live with that limitation, and as a result, this changes our perspective of the creative testing game.

CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE:

Throughout my years of dropshipping and the hundreds of products I’ve scaled, I’ve discovered that every product has a particular ceiling. Some are seven-fig products, and some are five-figure products, and that’s a pretty drastic difference.

STRATEGY:

My entire strategy revolves around the fact that some products don’t scale very high, regardless of how many creatives you test with them. The products that make millions of dollars generally will sell even with weaker creatives.

When you consider those things, it makes much more sense to test only one, two, or maybe three at most creatives per product.  I’d much rather test 10 products with one creative than 10 creatives for 1 product.


HOW TO CRUSH IT WITH LESS?

I’m here to tell you there is a way to drastically improve your odds of making a profit more consistently. I also feel that this philosophy applies or works much better with my strategy because we focus mostly on picture ads; we almost don’t run videos at all, which makes it easy to quickly cycle through hundreds, if not thousands, of products.

THE GAME PLAN:

  • Creative testing: Test between 1 and 3 creatives; 9 out of 10, we just run one creative for the products we test.

  • Creative picking: It’s not hard to figure out which photo to use. It’s simply the one you like the best; other people will like it the best if you like it.

CREATIVE FAILING.

If the picture doesn’t work for this product, it’s time to move on from that product. We won’t keep playing with creativity and searching the internet for more pictures. It’s far better to use your money and time to dump the product and try the next one.

CREATIVE WINNING.

So, say we’ve found a winning product, and we’ve scaled it up to maybe $30k in revenue, and it’s hit its ceiling, and we’ve found that this product can’t be scaled any further. At this point, we’ll create new creatives for these products.

I’m still a fan of creative testing. However, I prefer to test creatives from many different products as opposed to many creatives for a small number of products. This has the most excellent statistical chance of making you millions of dollars.


WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

When you’re running your drop shipping business or any business or any endeavor in general, you have to analyze how you’re spending your money, how you’re spending your time, and how you can optimize those things to give yourself a statistical advantage in the long run.

COMPOUNDING EFFECT:

It helps to understand the compounding effects of this. So, say this method that I’m talking about only gives you a 2% advantage over the other more commonly used method of mass creative testing for individual products; say our method gives you a 2% advantage in finding seven-figure products, that 2% compounds with every product that you test over the months and years.

SMALL ADVANTAGES, HUGE BENEFITS.

If you’re in this business, small advantages add up to huge benefits, and all you need is a constant flow of products to make a sustainable business; if you keep testing, the more absolute winners you will find, the more freedom you will create for yourself.
